ALBURY - PERTH SUNDAY 23RD AUGUST, 2026
Welcome on our 14 day tour to the South West Region of Western Australia. Group to assemble at the Albury Airport at 5.30am for our 6.35am departure on Qantas Flight QF2202 to Sydney arriving 7.55am. We connect to Flight QF0645 departing 10.35am through to Perth arriving 1.35pm. On arrival in Perth, we are transferred by a local coach to our accommodation overlooking the Swan River, which was explored in 1697 by Willem de Vlamingh and was named for the black swans found there - they are an iconic symbol of Western Australia. You have some free time before we meet again for our welcome dinner in the hotel.

DAY 2
PERTH & FREMANTLE MONDAY 24TH AUGUST
Embarking on a sightseeing tour of Perth from the coach, we’ll be guided through the unusual combination of skyscrapers and colonial architecture including Parliament House, St Mary’s Cathedral and Government House. We then head to Fremantle with many well-preserved heritage landmarks including the convict built colonial era buildings, the old jetty and prison. At the Old Fremantle Prison, we embark on a “Behind Bars” tour giving us a true insight into life as a prisoner. Lunch today is at Cicerello’s, a Western Australian icon, who have spent over 100 years serving the best fish and chips. Our final visit is at the Western Australian Maritime Museum perched on the shoreline of the Indian Ocean. The museum is symbolic of Fremantle’s past, present and future as a coastal city and port. From leisure boats and handcrafted sailing boats to commercial pearl luggers, the museum inspires visitors to discover WA’s affinity with the ocean.
DAY 3
NEW NORCIA & THE PINNACLES DESERT TUESDAY 25TH AUGUST
We have an early start today as we travel north to the town of New Norcia. Founded by Spanish Benedictine Monks, the town has had many purposes; a mission, a monastery, a provider of education and now, a place of spiritual retreat. On arrival we enjoy a tour of the town and visit the amazing Museum & Art Gallery. We also enjoy lunch at New Norcia Hostel, which began its life in 1927 as a guest house for parents visiting their children in the schools nearby. The afternoon consists of an easy paced walk, through the mystical Pinnacles Desert, well-known for its limestone structures that rise from the golden sand. It feels like you are on a different planet. We have several stops throughout the afternoon and hopefully spot some wildflowers along the way.
DAY 4
PERTH – BUSSELTON WEDNESDAY 26TH AUGUST
Departing Perth this morning we make our way south through Mandurah to Bunbury. Bunbury is the state's second most populated city after Perth, a major port and commercial centre for the southwest. Our morning visit to the Dolphin Discovery Centre offers a vast exhibition about dolphins and the marine environment.
From Bunbury head via Busselton to Dunsborough for lunch. There are numerous cafes and a great bakery in town. Our next stop is the memorable Busselton Jetty, extending 1.8 kilometres across stunning Geographe Bay, it is the longest timber-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. We jump aboard the jetty express train and take in the 360 degree views across the Indian Ocean as we journey across the calm, clear waters to the end of the jetty. Here we visit the Underwater Observatory, giving us the opportunity to experience one of Australia’s greatest artificial reefs. Descending eight metres below the surface, we’ll be led through the natural wonders that lie beneath the jetty. From here we continue to our overnight accommodation.

DAY 5
BUSSELTON - MARGARET RIVER - PEMBERTON THURSDAY 27TH AUGUST
Today we discover the true gems of the Margaret River, known for its world class wine and incredible scenery. Firstly, we head to Mammoth Cave - the magical, gothic like limestone cave, natural time capsule, and home to the ancient fossil remains of the long extinct giant animals known as Australian Megafauna. After our tour we continue our journey and stop at one of Margaret River’s premier wineries, Hamelin Bay Wines. A magnificent granite entry leads us to a contemporary space for a tasting and lunch. Lingering here in this peaceful atmosphere, we enjoy the stunning vista of the vines, valley, lake and forest. After lunch we reach the rocky headland of Cape Leeuwin to visit the historic Lighthouse situated at the most south-westerly tip of Australia, standing at the point where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet.

DAY 6
PEMBERTON – ALBANY FRIDAY 28TH AUGUST
After breakfast, travel eastwards to Walpole – the area is known as the "Valley of the Giants" located within the Walpole National Park. Forty metres up in the canopy, we explore this world-class tree-top walk which soars gently upwards amidst the giant tingle tree foliage and opens a world of birds and flowers that most people never see. We continue to Denmark for lunch at The Lake House with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding countryside. Further on is Albany, a town steeped in history of dramatic whaling, convicts and settlers. It’s also known as the birthplace of the Anzac story and is home to the National Anzac Centre. The state-of-the-art museum uses multimedia interactive exhibits and historical artefacts to create a deeply personal connection with the past and pay tribute to those who served in WW1. Dinner this evening is at our hotel.

DAY 7
ALBANY SIGHTSEEING SATURDAY 29TH AUGUST
This morning join Albany Ocean Adventures for a cruise through King George Sound. Leaving from the marina we see historic sites plus an abundance of wildlife and natural beauty of the area. Morning tea is served on board as our skipper provides commentary. After the cruise we drive to nearby Frenchman Bay, the location of Albany's Historic Whaling Station, now home to an interactive museum on whales and whaling. Enjoy lunch here before a guided tour of the station. On the way back we make a couple of stops to view the southern coastline of the Torndirrup National Park. There are numerous natural attractions here including The Gap and The Bridge – each providing great views of the coast.
DAY 8
ALBANY – ESPERANCE SUNDAY 30TH AUGUST
We tour through the stunning Stirling Ranges National Park and head to one of the lookouts where we might spot the wildflowers that usually bloom this time of year. Keep your eyes on the side of the road where they can often be spotted. Now onto Esperance, located on a coastline that is particularly spectacular with pure, white sandy beaches and massive granite outcrops. The beautiful heart-shaped bay - the Bay of Isles is so named due to the group of 105 islands that can be seen offshore, forming the Archipelago of Recherche.
After a day of wildflower-spotting we arrive at our accommodation.

DAY 9
ESPERANCE – KALGOORLIE MONDAY 31ST AUGUST
Leaving Esperance this morning we travel to Norseman, 200ks to the north. There is an interesting statue of a horse called “Norseman” in the main street. The horse allegedly pawed at the ground and unearthed a nugget of gold that started the Norseman gold rush. After a morning comfort stop, we continue through to Kalgoorlie. There is time to explore the largest display of the state’s collection of gold bars and nuggets at the Museum of the Goldfields before taking in the views from the Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM) Super Pit lookout. From here we check in to our accommodation and freshen up before dinner.

DAY 10
THE KALGOORLIE GOLDFIELDS TUESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER
The echoes of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s boisterous past are still to be witnessed everywhere. Hannan Street in Kalgoorlie and Burt Street in Boulder offer an insight into the way things were in the 1890s. We then embark on a tour of Australia’s largest gold producing mine, the Super Pit. As visitors, we will be inducted to the KCGM Super Pit and view the mining operations from the safety of the Mine-Spec Tour Coach. Be amazed by the size of the CAT 793 Haul trucks as we travel through the site. The view of the Super Pit from Harvey Hut will take our breath away as we see the old miners’ workings with old shafts and watch the work of the trucks. Following our tour enjoy lunch at the iconic Palace Hotel before our afternoon visit to Hannans North Tourist Mine. This provides a unique experience combining an historic gold mine with interactive galleries, a changing display of art works and contrasting landscapes. Wander through the Historic Precinct to experience a slice of the life of prospectors and miners 100 years ago.
After a fascinating day, we return to our motel.
DAY 11
KALGOORLIE – HYDEN WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER
This morning we make our way to Hyden to Western Australia’s most famous landmarks - Wave Rock. This afternoon we meet our local guide and see “Hippos Yawn” which is 1 kilometre from Hyden and then return to Wave Rock to learn about the geological and historical importance of this well-known attraction. Geologists believe the original formation was vertical but has been sculptured and coloured by chemicals over 2,700 million years to take on its wave-like character. We then check into our overnight accommodation.

DAY 12
HYDEN – PERTH THURSDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER
Today we make our way back to Perth and arrive in time to purchase lunch. This afternoon we take a look around Perth and visit Kings Park where we will be treated to spectacular views over the city and river, before arriving at the hotel for dinner.

DAY 13
WADJEMUP / ROTTNEST ISLAND FRIDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER
Today we have a totally free day for personal shopping and sightseeing or an optional day trip to Wadjemup / Rottnest Island. We meet back at the hotel this evening for our farewell dinner.
OPTIONAL TOUR: Cruise over the warm waters of the Indian Ocean onto Wadjemup / Rottnest Island. With its white sandy beaches, crystal clear blue waters and rich history, it is a wonderful day of discovery. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for quokkas and other wildlife. The day includes one way transfer from the hotel to the ferry terminal, return ferry to the island and guided coach tour.

DAY 14
PERTH – ALBURY SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER
Today we head home, so after breakfast we will be transferred to Perth Airport for our non-stop flight QF0646 departing 10.00am to Sydney arriving 4.05pm. Then make our way to Terminal 3 for QF2209 for departure at 7.00pm arriving in Albury 8.20pm after a memorable West Australian Southern Regions holiday.
