DAY 1

ALBURY – CAIRNS MONDAY 29TH JULY, 2024
Welcome to a wonderful experience with Martins Travel Albury for our 10 Day Cape York Tour – the Most Northern Tip of Australia. Group to assemble at the Albury Airport at 5.30am for departure at 6.45am on Flight QF2202 to Sydney, where we change planes and connect with Flight QF0922 to Cairns arriving 12.45pm. Upon our arrival, we will transfer to our accommodation, taking in the local sights along the way. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure.

DAY 2

CAIRNS – COOKTOWN TUESDAY 30TH JULY
Our adventure is about to start! After an early morning pick up from our Hotel, we travel north along the scenic Captain Cook Highway, through the World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the reef. Then making our way along the jungle shrouded Bloomfield Track (road conditions permitted), we stop at the unique Lion’s Den Hotel, pass the mysterious Black Mountain, arriving at the old gold port of Cooktown, where we visit Captain Cooks Landing, before settling in our accommodation with ensuite facilities.

DAY 3

COOKTOWN – LAKEFIELD NATIONAL PARK – MUSGRAVE WEDNESDAY 31ST JULY
Heading west into the outback, we travel over the legendary Battle Camp Range to the Old Laura Homestead and Lakefield National Park (road conditions permitting), a haven for the many birds and animals native to this area. Lagoons, billabongs, and wide river lakes are home to both fresh and saltwater crocodiles. The afternoon finds us arriving at our overnight accommodation.

DAY 4

MUSGRAVE – COEN –ARCHER RIVER – WEIPA THURSDAY 1ST AUGUST
This morning, we continue north stopping off at the historic frontier gold town of Coen and the picturesque Archer River, before making our way to the bauxite-mining town of Weipa. Enjoy the spectacular sunset over the Gulf of Carpentaria. Our accommodation with ensuite facilities tonight.

DAY 5

WEIPA - BRAMWELL STATION FRIDAY 2ND AUGUST
We experience the Wildlife Eco River Cruise this morning along the harbour, the Embley River to Hay Point and learn about the local culture, history and view the abundance of wildlife this area has to offer. After lunch (at own expense) we head for our overnight accommodation at a true blue Aussie cattle station.

DAY 6

BRAMWELL - FRUIT BAT FALLS - CAPE YORK SATURDAY 3RD AUGUST
After an early start, we head north travelling along part of the Old Telegraph Track to arrive at Fruit Bat Falls for lunch. Relax, swim, and enjoy this unique area with its enchanting waterfall. Then northwards across the Jardine River, to arrive at Cape York! We will be staying at Seisia. Seisia is ideally located for our next few days, being within walking distance from the Seisia Wharf, the departure point for the ferry to Thursday Island and a famous fishing spot. Our accommodation is cottages with ensuite facilities.

DAY 7

CAPE YORK - SOMERSET SUNDAY 4TH AUGUST
We have an unforgettable day ahead of us! Stand at the very top of mainland Australia before visiting Somerset (road conditions permitting), once the home of the legendary Jardine family. We enjoy lunch on palm fringed Anchorage Beach which overlooks the Albany Passage with a walk on the beach to complete our day before returning to Seisia.

DAY 8

CAPE YORK - THURSDAY ISLAND - CAIRNS MONDAY 5TH AUGUST
An early morning departure as we cruise through island studded straits to explore our northern community, Thursday Island. Here we will be taken on a informative guided bus tour of the island and its picturesque Harbour, once home to the romantic pearl lugger fleet. We then board the plane at Horn Island for a scenic flight back to Cairns where we will be transferred to the hotel.

DAY 9

CAIRNS TUESDAY 6TH AUGUST
We have a totally free day today to relax, explore the town and shops . If you would like to take an optional day trip to Kuranda on the Skyrail returning on the Scenic Railway, or a Green Island & Great Barrier Reef Cruise, our office can arrange this.
Great Barrier Reef & Green Island Cruise is available @ $320.00 pp (guide only—subject to change)
Full Day Sky Rail & Kuranda Scenic Railway is available @ $210.00 pp (guide only—subject to change)

DAY 10

CAIRNS – ALBURY WEDNESDAY 7TH AUGUST
Unfortunately, our adventure is coming to an end. Today we head to the Cairns Airport for Flight QF0923 departing 1.30pm to Sydney before continuing on to our 7.00pm Flight QF2209 arriving Albury 8.15pm with fantastic memories of our time up north!
