Welcome aboard for our 3 day getaway to Hay. The country town is known for its vast, flat surroundings on the Hay Plains, offering panoramic '360-degree' views. Discover sheer outback, sheep shearing and history.
Depart Wodonga Plaza Smythe Street at 7.30am, Albury Railway Station 7.45am and Lavington Shopping Centre Griffith Road at 8.00am. Travel to Narrandera for our morning tea at Halls Coffee Cottage followed by a short visit to the Narrandera Hub. Continue to a farm owned by local identity, Libby Bailey owner of Rocking Horse Restorations in Murrami. During a 10 year drought, Libby took up rocking horse restoration to ward off depression. A true example of country ingenuity! Libby will provide us with lunch and a tour of her work. This afternoon enjoy a guided tour of Southern Cotton, a world-class ginning facility at Whitton. Here we experience a behind-the-scenes tour from a specially designed viewing platform and see the process up close and learn about the local industry from seed to bale.
Continuing to Hay we arrive in the afternoon and check into our accommodation. We have time to freshen up before our welcome dinner at the onsite restaurant.

DAY 2
EXPLORING HAY FRIDAY 20TH AUGUST
This morning, we explore Hay with a local expert joining us on the coach for a tour around town. After our tour we head to the Shear Outback for a demonstration and lunch. This acclaimed tourist and educational facility offers a range of experiences, including the Australian Shearers Hall of Fame. The innovative centre is dedicated to providing insights into the fascinating world of shearing and its cultural significance. Hay is also home to Bishops Lodge Historic House and Garden, which is a remarkable iron building constructed in 1889 as the official residence for the Anglican Bishop of Riverina. Enjoy a guided tour before we visit the Hay Gaol Museum for a self-guided tour. Wander through the goal and discover stories of it past. Later we return to our accommodation and meet again over dinner.
DAY 3
HAY - ALBURY SATURDAY 21ST AUGUST
After a wonderful two-night stay, we start the journey home. Our travels today take us to The Depot in Deniliquin where we enjoy a visit and morning tea. Full of nostalgia and discovery, this museum offers touches of Hollywood, trucking and transport with vehicles from around the world. Heading to Echuca we visit one of the most unique and entertaining attractions in the region, the Great Aussie Beer Shed. Take a stroll down memory lane with an unbelievable display of iconic paraphernalia including 17,000 beer cans from around Australia and the world. Don't be fooled by the name, the shed also houses other interesting items such as old petrol bowsers, a Coca Cola collection and even a restored WW1 cannon. We enjoy a guided tour and lunch here before arriving home late afternoon with amazing stories to share of our trip to Hay.
