DAY 1

ALBURY - MELBOURNE TUESDAY 29TH JUNE 2027
Welcome aboard Martins Touring Coach for our 13 Day Tour to Darwin, Tiwi Islands and the stunning Kimberley Region of North West Australia Tour. Depart from Lavington Shopping Centre Griffith Road Bus Stop 12.15pm, Albury Railway Station 12.30pm, Wodonga Plaza Smythe Street 12.45pm, Wangaratta Coles Perry Street Bus Stop 1.40pm and travel via the Hume Freeway to Melbourne for our overnight accommodation and dinner.

DAY 2

MELBOURNE - DARWIN WEDNESDAY 30TH JUNE
This morning there is a short walk to the Qantas Terminal where the food court provides many options for your breakfast. Join our direct Qantas Flight QF0834 departing 9.25am arriving into Darwin 1.25pm. We will be met by our local coach operator for transfer to the Darwin Esplanade to check into our hotel before dinner

DAY 3

TERRITORY DAY IN DARWIN Public Holiday THURSDAY 1ST JULY
Following breakfast, we take a quick look through the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens before arriving at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT). Set in a tropical garden at Bullocky Point, the MAGNT has a variety of collections that highlight the region's art, culture, and history. One of the more popular and powerful exhibitions tells the story of Cyclone Tracy and how it changed, not just the urban landscape, but the lives of Darwin residents. We have lunch at the café before heading to East Point to visit the Darwin Military Museum. Learn about life in the Northern Territory during World War II, the contribution made in northern Australia to the war effort, and experience first-hand accounts of the bombing. Tonight, we join the Spirit of Darwin Cruises for a sunset dinner cruise on Darwin Harbour. See the Darwin skyline from a totally different perspective while enjoying an interesting commentary and dinner. As today is Territory Day, we can also take in the fireworks from our cruise.

DAY 4

DAY 5

DISCOVERING DARWIN SATURDAY 3RD JULY
After breakfast, a local guide joins us onboard to uncover the fascinating history of Darwin. The role played by Darwin in World War II is not always known. On our guided tour, discover the city and learn more about the bombing of Darwin. See visible reminders and relics left behind after the bombing devastated Darwin and seriously threatened Australia. After dropping off our guide, we will have some time to purchase lunch before our afternoon visit to the Darwin Aviation Museum. Relive Darwin's frontier role in World War II while wandering through the impressive collection of the Territory's aviation history before returning to our hotel.

DAY 6

DARWIN - KATHERINE SUNDAY 4TH JULY
Leaving Darwin, it's now time to make our way to Litchfield National Park. The 65,000ha National Park with its untouched rainforests, hot springs, magnificent waterfalls and stunning scenery has gained the reputation as the jewel of the Northern Territory's crown. We stop to see the Giant Termite Mounds, Florence Falls and Wangi Falls.
No tour to the Top End, or Katherine would be complete without a cruise through Katherine Gorge. Discover the cultural significance of the two gorges to the traditional landowners - the Jawoyn people. Along the way cultural guides will share their knowledge about plants, animals, dreamtime stories and culture. Surrounded by the limestone escarpment, the scenery is second to none.

DAY 7

KATHERINE - KUNUNURRA MONDAY 5TH JULY
From Katherine we travel to Victoria River Crossing and Timber Creek at the northern edge of the Gregory National Park. We then cross the border into Western Australia. A highlight will be our cruise from Lake Argyle, a Kimberley treasure, to Kununurra. Marvel at the spectacular scenery and abundance of Australian native wildlife in their natural habitat. Take in the untamed landscape of the lesser known but equally incredible Carr Boyd Ranges. We arrive in Kununurra, established as the residential and administrative centre of the Ord River Scheme - a huge irrigation system that was developed in the 1970s.

DAY 8

KUNUNURRA TUESDAY 6TH JULY
OPTIONAL: Bungle Bungle Adventurer Scenic Flight* - This morning we have time for a remarkable optional flight over Purnululu National Park to see the Bungle Bungle Ranges. See a maze of curious orange and black striped beehive shaped domes from above, making it the Kimberley's best scenic view.

For those not wishing to fly, this is the perfect opportunity for a sleep-in! After a slightly later breakfast, we take a tour in and around Kununurra which means "big water". Kununurra was established as the residential and administrative centre of the Ord River Scheme - a huge irrigation scheme which was developed in the 1970s. We visit the Mirima National Park, also referred to as Hidden Valley and stop at the Ivanhoe Cafe for lunch followed by a visit to Kimberley Ornamental Stonecraft.
Also visit the Tourist Information Centre to see many of the local products from the region.

DAY 9

KUNUNURRA - HALLS CREEK WEDNESDAY 7TH JULY
This morning we depart Kununurra and head south to Warmun for our lunch break at the Warmun Roadhouse. From here we travel to Halls Creek, on the edge of the Great Sandy Desert. The town is full of stories and relics as it was the site of Western Australia's first gold rush. One of the more famous stories is of Russian Jack, a man who carried his injured mate in a wheelbarrow for over 300 kilometres to get medical attention. A statue is dedicated to his amazing feat here in town. Just outside Halls Creek is the China Wall. The amazing natural white stone formations rise high out of the ground and then disappear back into the earth again, making it look like a miniature Great Wall of China.

DAY 10

HALLS CREEK T - FITZROY CROSSING THURSDAY 8TH JULY
This morning we continue west through the magnificent red mountain scenery of the Kimberley to our accommodation in Fitzroy Crossing. Upon arrival we'll enjoy lunch and an afternoon relaxing at the lodge, which is located on fifty acres of natural bushland with shady trees and a revitalizing pool. Feeling refreshed after a couple of days travelling across the remote yet stunning WA landscape, we will rejoin for dinner at the lodge.

Unfortunately Geiki Gorge Cruise is currently unavailable due to damage sustained in the January 2023 flood. If available at time of travel we can arrange the Geike Gorge Cruise as an option at extra cost.

DAY 11

FITZROY CROSSING - BROOME FRIDAY 9TH JULY
Our destination today is Broome, but before we arrive, we'll make a fascinating detour to visit the famous Boab Prison Tree. This remarkable and unconventional landmark was once used as an overnight lockup, with its enormous hollow trunk reportedly capable of holding several prisoners. In the early days, prisoners were held here overnight before continuing their final trek into Derby.Arriving in Derby there is time to stretch your legs and purchase lunch before setting off for Broome, our destination for the day. Situated on the coast of the Southern Kimberley Region, Broome's rich and colourful history began with the mass migration of Japanese, Filipino and Malay pearl divers seeking their fortune and creating a melting pot of cultures that makes the multicultural town it is today. DAY 12

BROOME SATURDAY 10TH JULY
This morning, we'll see some of the local sights from the coach such as Gantheaume Point, the Japanese Cemetery and Chinatown. Next, we discover the rare and beautiful Australian South Sea Cultured Pearl on the award-winning Willie Creek Pearl Farm Tour. The fascinating tour will give us an insight into the process of pearl farming, from shell to showroom. Set amongst the crystal-clear waters and mangrove lined banks of Willie Creek, we'll learn how pearl technicians seed and harvest oysters and discover exactly what makes the perfect pearl. Our visit will also include lunch, a boat cruise and time for some retail therapy. After an interesting day, our farewell dinner tonight will be at Cable Beach House which is famous for the uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean and to watch the spectacular Broome sunset. The perfect way to end a wonderful journey.

DAY 13

BROOME - ALBURY SUNDAY 11TH JULY
Following breakfast, we transfer to Broome Airport to board our QF1051 flight to Melbourne departing at 12.00pm (refreshments in flight) arriving in Melbourne at 6.00pm. Our Martins coach will be waiting to transfer you to your home destination with comfort stops enroute, arriving approximately 10.30 / 11.00pm to complete a fantastic holiday to the Kimberley!
